What are people's thoughts on Advija? A lot of Advija fans seem to be frustrated with his lack of involvement in the offense. While this is understandable, it also shows a real lack of understanding about NBA basketball imo. The notion that Advija was going to just show up as a rookie and be allowed to create like he's Luka Doncic was never really realistic. Ideally, you'd see an in-between where he's given the freedom to do things here and there, but in all honesty, the only team that would give that opportunity would be tanking.
It will be very interesting to see what happens going forward. If this is the kind of advice Advija is getting, I think you have to question whether or not he'll end up sticking in the NBA. Being allowed the freedom to create and initiate offense is a privilege. To do so on a competitive team is the highest honor a player can get. At the same time, having a player that dominates the ball like a Westbrook limits the ability of everyone else. I get why Deni fans are frustrated. It’s not just about minutes played. He just stands in the corner while Beal and Westbrook iso. Of course they are frustrated. They don’t give him nearly as much opportunity as Rui had last season. We are in win now mode, unfortunately.
Nothing to be concerned about as far as Deni’s ability level. They just need to remember that Brooks will be gone at the end of the season and things will be fine.prime1time כתב:I wonder if the stupid stuff we see at the end of games is because he wants out. Anyone else see him just
throw the ball backwards over his head? Whoever is in his ear is going to really screw him over. If he has Doncic level talent and the Wiz are keeping him down fine. But if he in anyway shape or form needs to grow and develop he's going to really screw himself.
Also, it speaks volumes that they would be angry/frustrated when we win. And if that's Advija's mindset he's going to get stamped as a player who is more about himself than about the team. Like what team does he go to right now, where he would get an opportunity to "be the guy."
